Lord Elgin Model 4875 Shockmaster

Lord Elgin 5874

Excellent all 14kt yellow gold fille screwback case measures 40mm long lug to lug, by 32mm wide, not including crown. One tool mark on back as seen. Excellent original engine turned dial with light, even honey toning. Replacement crown and acrylic crystal. 21 jewel Caliber 688 movement sets and winds perfectly, keeps time to within 2 min/day but not known when last serviced. Used but serviceable 18mm black Corfam band. Triple stepping on this nice beefy case. This was probably an expensive watch in its day (1954 judging by the movement serial number). Features the Durapower mainspring (note logo on dial) as well as shock protected balance ("Shockmaster"). The watch is just 32mm diameter, but looks bigger because of the large lugs and stepped case. One of the nicer Lord Elgins I've seen in a while.
